Pressure cook on high for 15-17 minutes 15 minutes for more firm.

Vegan Black Eyed Peas Instant Pot. Add black eyed peas vegetable broth water and salt to the Instant Pot. Mix in the water turmeric chili powder if using jaggery fresh lemon juice and 1 teasp salt. Stir well cover and cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 8-12 hours.

Place the pressure release handle vent in the Sealing position. Select Pressure Cook or Manual and set the time for. Press the SAUTE MODE and set at HIGH for 10 minutes.

Once the screen displays HOT add oil to it. Lock the lid of the Instant Pot. Let the steam release naturally.

Soak black-eyed peas in water overnight or for 8 hours. Add in the onions and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the onions are soft and translucent. Put the Instant Pot lid on and turn the knob on top to close.

Cook for a minute. Simmer beans in a pot of water on the stovetop for 30-45 minutes or until they are the desired texture. Drain rinse and set aside.

Turn on the Instant Pot in Saute mode. Place the inner pot inside the Instant Pot. Make a smooth paste by grinding half an onion coconut and fennel seeds.
